DTN COMMENTS:  Still just a few bids on the table this afternoon, in 
Western Nebraska and parts of Kansas, but so far, they are being passed. 
Some asking prices of $415 are being reported in Eastern Nebraska at this 
time, in all other feeding areas asking prices are not fully established.

Today's slaughter totaled 109,000 head, even with last week, but 1,000 
more than a year ago. Cattle futures closed mostly modestly to moderately 
higher, up 140 to off 10, feeder issues ended the day moderately higher, 
up 37 to 80. Beef cutouts are expected to close lower with light to 
moderate box movement.
