Although industry sources reported lighter sales activity for week 39, dry 
whole milk prices increased at both ends of the range this week. Spot load 
opportunities are tight as milk production is not at its heaviest time of year 
and manufacturers work to produce stocks for contractual commitments. Dry whole 
milk production is steady. Manufacturers indicate nonfat dry milk is taking 
more precedent for dryer time than dry whole milk. Spot milk loads continue to 
be tight in many parts of the country.
