Butter - Central U.S.

Released on June 24, 2026

Central region milk output is steady, but some contacts in the Southwest say
summer temperatures are starting to have a negative impact on milk output. Milk
component levels are declining in the region, contributing to lighter cream
production. Demand for cream is strong from Class II processors. Butter makers
say they are primarily using volumes from within their network to run busy
production schedules. Some butter makers are working to build inventories for
use later in the year. Domestic butter demand is steady to higher, and export
interest remains strong. Spot purchasers say loads of 80 percent butterfat
butter remain available, while inventories of 82 percent butter are tighter.
